How to Get to Swieqi
Swieqi is a residential suburb next to St Julian's and is served from Malta International Airport (MLA) via short bus or taxi rides. Tallinja buses and taxis/Bolt cover most connections to Valletta and the rest of the island.
Malta International Airport (MLA): Malta’s international airport is the main gateway for Swieqi, Saint Julian’s and neighbouring towns. From MLA you can take a bus to St Julian’s/Swieqi (about 20-30 minutes) or a taxi/Bolt (about 10-20 minutes) - airport taxi fares to Swieqi/St Julian’s typically range €15-€25 depending on luggage and time.
Gozo (ferry access): If arriving via Gozo, you’ll need the Gozo Channel ferry plus a road transfer back to Swieqi; for international flights use Malta International (MLA).
Train: There is no train network on Malta.
Bus: Tallinja buses serve Swieqi and the wider St Julian’s area from the airport and Valletta. A bus from the airport or Valletta to Swieqi/St Julian’s takes around 20-30 minutes; single fares are typically in the low single euros (using cash or a Tallinja card).
