About Suan Pakkad Palace#
Suan Pakkad Palace (‘Cabbage Patch Palace’) is a museum in central Bangkok made up of eight traditional Thai teak houses set in landscaped gardens. Once the home of Prince and Princess Chumbhot, it opened to the public as a museum of the family’s art collection.
Highlights include the celebrated Lacquer Pavilion, decorated with gold-and-black lacquer murals, alongside displays of Ban Chiang pottery, Buddha images, shells and royal memorabilia. A peaceful, uncrowded alternative to Bangkok’s busier sights, it sits just off Sri Ayutthaya Road near the Phaya Thai skytrain.
