Strovolos sits just west of central Nicosia and is easiest reached via Larnaca International Airport (LCA) or, less commonly, Paphos International Airport (PFO). There are no trains in Cyprus, so most long-distance travel is by intercity bus or car; local buses and taxis connect Strovolos to Nicosia centre.

By Air

Larnaca International Airport (LCA): Larnaca is the closest major airport to Strovolos/Nicosia. Taxi to central Nicosia/Strovolos takes about 35-45 minutes and costs roughly €45-€60; private airport transfers are similar or slightly higher. Regular intercity buses from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia run several times daily; expect a journey of about 45-65 minutes and fares around €4-€6.

Paphos International Airport (PFO): Paphos is further west and is best used only if you plan to visit the west of the island first. A direct taxi to Nicosia will take roughly 1 hour 45 minutes-2 hours 15 minutes and costs in the region of €140-€180. Intercity buses link Paphos and Nicosia with journey times of about 2-2.5 hours and fares typically around €9-€12.

By Train & Bus

Train: Cyprus currently has no national passenger rail network; there are no train services to Strovolos or Nicosia.

Bus: Intercity bus services connect the main airports and cities-Larnaca ↔ Nicosia and Paphos ↔ Nicosia-terminating at the Nicosia central/intercity bus station. City and suburban buses serve Strovolos from Nicosia (frequent local routes); intercity fares range roughly €4-€12 depending on origin and travel time (1-2.5 hours), while local single fares within Nicosia/Strovolos are typically low (see Getting Around for local prices and tips).
