St. Paul’s Church (Paulskirche) in Frankfurt am Main is a prominent public building on Paulsplatz that became the symbolic seat of the first freely elected German national assembly in 1848-1849.

The interior is dominated by the circular assembly hall space where the parliament met; the site now hosts exhibitions and events related to democracy and contemporary civic life. The building is compact and centrally located in Frankfurt’s old town.

Originally constructed as a Protestant church in the early 19th century, it was the meeting place for the 1848-1849 Frankfurt Parliament. The structure was badly damaged during World War II and subsequently restored; it today functions largely as a memorial and venue rather than a regular parish church.
