St. Mark’s Church is a medieval parish church on St. Mark’s Square (Trg Svetog Marka) in the Upper Town of Zagreb, Croatia, best known for its vividly patterned tiled roof showing historic coats of arms.

The roof displays two historic coats of arms in glazed tiles - one for the city of Zagreb and one representing the medieval Kingdom of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia - and is the building’s most photographed feature. The church interior retains Romanesque and Gothic fabric and later additions, with period frescoes and altarpieces visible inside.

The core of the church dates to the 13th century and it has undergone Gothic and Baroque modifications and restorations since then; the distinctive tiled roof was added during a 19th-century restoration. The building has been used continuously as the parish church for the Upper Town.

The church sits on St. Mark’s Square in Gornji Grad, adjacent to the Croatian Parliament and close to the city’s medieval fortifications and the Presidential palace.

• Approach via the upper town (Gornji Grad) rather than the main tourist streets and look for official opening times - the square can be restricted for state events, so check ahead if you plan to photograph the tiled roof.
• Combine the church stop with nearby viewpoints such as Lotrščak Tower or the Stone Gate for better context and different perspectives on the church's distinctive roof and the surrounding medieval streets.
