How to Get to Šilalė
Šilalė is a small town in Tauragė County mainly served by intercity buses rather than rail. Kaunas and Palanga/Klaipėda are the usual air gateways with onward bus connections to Šilalė.
Kaunas Airport (KUN): Kaunas is the closest major airport. From Kaunas airport take a transfer to Kaunas bus station then a Kautra intercity bus to Šilalė - journey time roughly 1h30-2h, fares generally €4-€10.
Palanga / Klaipėda (via Palanga Airport PLQ or Klaipėda ferry): For western approaches, Palanga Airport (seasonal) and Klaipėda offer alternatives; from there take a bus toward Šilalė or connect via Klaipėda-Šilalė regional services (times and frequencies vary seasonally).
Train: Šilalė is not on the main national rail network; the nearest significant rail hubs are in Šiauliai or Klaipėda, from which you continue by bus.
