Shomanay (Karakalpakstan) is most convenient to reach via Nukus Airport, then by road. Shared taxis and local buses handle the short onward trip and are the common option for travellers.

By Air

Nukus Airport (NCU): Nukus is the main airport for Karakalpakstan and the logical air gateway for Shomanay. From Nukus the road journey to Shomanay is typically around 1-1.5 hours by car or taxi; taxis and private transfers are the usual options (fares are modest and set locally).

Urgench / Bukhara (regional airports): Depending on routing some travellers use Urgench or Bukhara for different onward itineraries, but Nukus is the closest and most practical air arrival for Shomanay.

By Train & Bus

Train: Uzbekistan Railways serves Nukus and other regional stations. From Nukus you can continue by shared taxi or bus to Shomanay; rail is mainly useful for the larger legs to Nukus or across Karakalpakstan.
