How to Get to Sežana

Sežana sits on the Slovenian-Italian Karst near Trieste and is well connected by both Trieste (TRS) and Ljubljana (LJU) airports. Regional trains and buses link Sežana to Ljubljana, Trieste and the Istrian/Slovenian coastline.

By Air

Trieste - Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (TRS): Trieste Airport (about 35-45 km) is the closest international airport. From TRS you can get to Sežana by regional bus or taxi; a taxi is roughly €40-€60 and takes about 30-40 minutes. There are also bus and train connections from Trieste city and train station to Sežana.

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU): Ljubljana Airport sits about 70-90 km from Sežana. From LJU take the airport shuttle to Ljubljana city centre (shuttle ~€6-€9, 30-40 min) and then a direct train or bus to Sežana (total travel time ~1.5-2 hours by public transport).
