Sentani

Sentani is a town on the northern shore of Lake Sentani in Papua province, Indonesia, and functions as a regional transport and administrative centre. It is the location of Sentani International Airport, the main air gateway for the provincial capital and surrounding districts.

The lakeshore area offers lakeside villages, traditional boat traffic and local markets; visitors commonly use Sentani as the access point for excursions on Lake Sentani and for day trips toward nearby mountain and conservation areas. Small-scale fishing and boat journeys between lakeside settlements are principal activities for visitors interested in local culture.
