How to Get to Sderot

Sderot is located in Israel's southern district and is directly served by Israel Railways and regional buses. For most visitors Ben Gurion + a short rail/bus/taxi transfer is the practical route; local trains and buses are adequate for moving around the region.

By Air

Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): Ben Gurion is Israel’s main international airport. From TLV you can take a train to Ashkelon (about 40-50 minutes) then a short bus or taxi to Sderot, or rent a car; total door‑to‑door time is commonly 1-1.5 hours. Combined train+bus fares are typically in the 25-50 ILS range depending on segments.

Ovda / Ramon (ETM/SDV): For travellers arriving from southern destinations, Ramon (near Eilat) or Ovda may be used; road transfers to Sderot are long (several hours) and usually done by rental car or intercity coach.

By Train & Bus

Train: Sderot has an Israel Railways station on the Ashkelon-Be’er Sheva line and services connect to Ashkelon and onward to Tel Aviv via transfers. Travel time to Ashkelon is short (around 10-20 minutes); to Tel Aviv expect 50-75 minutes including transfers. Typical rail fares within the region are roughly 10-30 ILS depending on distance and discounts.

Bus: Egged and other intercity buses connect Sderot with surrounding towns, Ashkelon and Be’er Sheva. Local bus lines provide short trips within the area; fares are generally 5-15 ILS for regional journeys.
