Rwamagana is a short drive east of Kigali and is normally reached from Kigali International Airport (KGL) followed by a road transfer. Frequent minibuses and taxis make the trip quick and straightforward.

By Air

Kigali International Airport (KGL): Rwamagana is reached via Kigali International Airport followed by a short road journey. From KGL you can take an airport taxi to Kigali and then a bus or taxi east toward Rwamagana; airport taxis to Kigali centre take about 15-25 minutes and typically cost around 6,000-12,000 RWF (approx. US$6-12). Private airport transfers to Rwamagana take roughly 45-75 minutes depending on traffic.

By Train & Bus

Train: Rwanda does not operate passenger trains.

Bus: Buses and shared minibuses to Rwamagana depart from Nyabugogo bus park in Kigali and run frequently. The road journey is short-roughly 45-75 minutes-making bus travel convenient for day trips; fares are low, commonly a few hundred to a thousand RWF depending on service.
