Rivière du Rempart is reached via Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) near Plaine Magnien; most visitors transfer by taxi, private transfer or bus through Port Louis. There is no passenger rail, so buses, minibuses and rented cars are the practical options for getting to and around the district.

By Air

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU): The island’s main international gateway is MRU (near Plaine Magnien). From MRU you can reach Rivière du Rempart by taxi (about 1-1.5 hours; roughly 1,600-2,400 MUR / ~USD 40-60) or by public bus plus local minibus: take an airport shuttle/coach or an NTC/express bus into Port Louis (45-60 minutes, ~50-120 MUR) then a local bus/minibus north to Rivière du Rempart (additional 30-60 minutes, small fare ~20-60 MUR). Shared private transfers are common and cost between the bus and taxi rates depending on vehicle and number of passengers.

By Train & Bus

Train: Mauritius has no national passenger rail network - there are no train services to Rivière du Rempart.
