How to Get to Rashaya

Rashaya is a hill town in Lebanon's Beqaa region near the Syrian border. The nearest international airport is Beirut Rafic Hariri International (BEY); onward travel to Rashaya is by road (private car, taxi or shared minibus).

By Air

Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY): Beirut is the main international gateway for Lebanon and is the closest major airport to Rashaya (roughly 80-110 km depending on route). From Beirut you can travel overland by private car or taxi to Rashaya; journey time is typically 1.5-2.5 hours depending on traffic and route. Airport transfers and private cars are the normal options - prices vary and should be confirmed at booking.

By Train & Bus

Train: Lebanon does not currently have an operational national passenger rail network; rail travel is not an option.

Bus / Shared service: Buses, service vans and shared taxis run from Beirut and other towns toward the Beqaa and the eastern border areas; travel times to Rashaya are around 1.5-2.5 hours. Services are informal-confirm departure points and times locally (Beirut’s Dora area or central bus stations are common departure points).

How to Get Around Rashaya #

Rashaya’s compact center is walkable and easy to explore on foot. For longer journeys, shared taxis (service taxis), minibuses and private taxis connect to larger towns and Beirut; arranging transport in advance is helpful, especially for cross-country trips. Expect modest fares for local services but less frequent scheduled public transport; hiring a private car or shared taxi is often the most practical option for reaching nearby sites.
