Queen Alia International Airport (AMM): Amman’s main international hub is the usual arrival point for Qatraneh/Al‑Karak travellers. The drive from AMM to Al‑Karak governorate (and the Qatraneh area) typically takes about 1-1.5 hours by car depending on traffic; taxis and private transfers are widely available at the airport (prices vary by operator - expect a higher single‑fare for a direct private transfer than for shared shuttle services).
(No closer major international airport): There are no nearer international airports with regular scheduled flights; domestic transfers are by road from Amman.
Train: Jordan does not have an intercity passenger rail network in operation for these routes; road transport is the standard option.
Bus: Intercity buses and shared minibuses (service taxis) operate from Amman to Karak and surrounding towns. Buses depart Amman’s main bus stations and the journey to Karak region commonly takes around 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic; fares are generally modest (local buses and services are usually economical, but prices and services vary by operator). From Karak you will need a local taxi to reach smaller communities such as Qatraneh.
