How to Get to Protaras#
Protaras is a resort area on Cyprus’s southeast coast best approached via Larnaca International Airport (LCA). From Larnaca the easiest public option is an intercity bus or a private taxi transfer.
Larnaca International Airport (LCA): Larnaca is the closest major airport to Protaras. Taxis from LCA to Protaras take about 40-50 minutes; expect a fare around €45-60 depending on time and luggage.
Paphos International Airport (PFO): Paphos is further away (roughly 1.5-2 hours by road) and is less convenient unless you combine it with a west‑coast itinerary; taxi transfers are available but more expensive than from Larnaca.
Train: Cyprus does not have an operational islandwide passenger rail network.
Bus: Intercity buses operate between Larnaca (and Larnaca airport) and the Ayia Napa/Protaras area. Buses that serve Ayia Napa stop in Protaras; journey time from Larnaca to Protaras is roughly 55-75 minutes and fares are modest (typically a few euros).
