About Prasat Kuha Nokor#
Also known as Kukhaknokor, this atmospheric temple complex dates to the 11th century. Built during the reign of Suryavarman I, it is made from large laterite blocks and sits within the grounds of a pagoda still used for worship today.
Few visitors linger in Kampong Thom, but the surrounding countryside rewards those who do - jungle-fringed scenery good for trekking, hiking, and cycling. While the temple can be seen on a day trip from Skuon, spending a night or two lets you slow down amid the natural beauty. Many travelers passing between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap use it as a welcome break from the road.
