How to Get to Ponte Caffaro
Ponte Caffaro (Lake Idro) is easiest reached by car from Brescia or Verona airports. Public transport uses a combination of regional train to Brescia and local buses; schedules are sparse so a rental car or taxi is usually more convenient.
Verona Villafranca (VRN): Verona is a common gateway for northern Lombardy. From Verona Airport drive or transfer to Brescia (approx. 45-75 minutes by car) then continue by road to Ponte Caffaro (Lake Idro area). Travel time from Verona to Ponte Caffaro is typically around 1-1.5 hours by car.
Orio al Serio / Bergamo (BGY) or Brescia (VBS): Bergamo and Brescia-Montichiari airports are also options depending on flight availability; car travel times from Bergamo or Brescia to Ponte Caffaro are typically 1-1.5 hours. Note that public-transport options for the final leg are limited and often require multiple changes.
Train: The nearest major rail hub is Brescia station (Brescia FS) with frequent regional and long-distance services. From Brescia you need a local bus or car to reach the Lake Idro / Ponte Caffaro area; trains do not serve the lakefront directly.
