Tourist activity is concentrated on the island’s sandy southwestern shore where resort clusters, restaurants and dive operators are based. Typical visitor highlights include beach swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving at nearby sites and day trips to small islets with coral reefs.
The island hosts several named attractions such as Alona Beach, Hinagdanan Cave and nearby Balicasag Island. Bohol-Panglao International Airport opened in 2018 on the island and now handles most commercial flights serving Bohol.
