Oxford Circus is the major road junction where Oxford Street and Regent Street meet in central London, within the city’s West End shopping district.

The junction is one of London’s busiest pedestrian and retail nodes and incorporates a large Underground interchange. The street-level crossing was modified to a diagonal pedestrian ‘scramble’ configuration in 2009 to improve pedestrian flow.

Oxford Circus is a major London transport hub. The Oxford Circus Underground station (Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines) sits directly at the intersection. Numerous bus routes run along Oxford Street and Regent Street; walking distance from Piccadilly Circus is roughly 10-15 minutes.

• Use the Baker Street or Oxford Circus tube exits to avoid the most crowded crosswalks at peak times.
• Visit very early morning or late evening for photos when the lights and advertising are clearest without the crush of pedestrians.
• If shopping, head down Regent Street toward Piccadilly for flagship stores; Oxford Street itself is the busiest and most chaotic.
