Orkanger is best reached via Trondheim Airport Værnes with a short train into Trondheim and a regional bus onward to Orkanger. Buses from Trondheim are straightforward and run regularly; driving is quicker and convenient if you have a car.
Trondheim Airport Værnes (TRD): The nearest major airport is Trondheim Værnes. From Værnes you can take the train (Vy) to Trondheim Central Station (Trondheim S) in about 30-40 minutes and then transfer to regional buses to Orkanger. A taxi direct to Orkanger takes around 55-75 minutes depending on route and costs substantially more.
