How to Get to Støren
Støren is well connected by rail and road and is best reached via Trondheim (airport TRD) or by train from Trondheim. The railway junction gives good regional connections; use trains for reliability and buses for destinations away from the line.
Trondheim Airport Værnes (TRD): TRD is the main airport for visitors to Støren. By car or taxi the trip from TRD to Støren takes roughly 50-70 minutes depending on traffic; expect taxi fares to be substantially higher than public transport (a private taxi can cost several hundred NOK). There are also rail connections from Værnes/Trondheim to Støren.
Other regional airports: Ålesund and Ørsta-Volda airports are much further away and not practical for routine access to Støren.
Train: Støren Station is a railway junction on the Dovre Line (Dovrebanen) and the Røros Line (Rørosbanen). Vy operates regional trains connecting Støren with Trondheim (about 45-60 minutes by train) and with Røros/Oppdal on the intersecting routes; typical one-way fares on regional services are often in the low-to-mid hundreds of NOK depending on booking and ticket type.
Bus: AtB runs regional and local buses serving Støren and neighbouring communities. Buses are useful for places not directly on the rail line; expect regional bus journeys to cost from roughly NOK 50-150 depending on distance.
