How to Get to Nueva Ocotepeque#
Nueva Ocotepeque is reached overland from Honduras’s main cities. Fly into San Pedro Sula (SAP) or Tegucigalpa (TGU) and continue by intercity bus to Santa Rosa de Copán or direct regional services toward Ocotepeque, then switch to local transport for the final short leg.
Ramón Villeda Morales / San Pedro Sula (SAP): For western Honduras towns like Nueva Ocotepeque many travelers fly into San Pedro Sula and then continue overland; taxi or bus connections depart from the city’s main terminals.
Tegucigalpa (TGU): Tegucigalpa is another gateway, but overland travel times are longer; buses from Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula connect to regional bus hubs nearer Ocotepeque.
Train: Honduras does not have an active intercity passenger rail network.
