Nosy Sakatia is a small island off the northwest coast of Madagascar near Nosy Be in the Diana Region. It is known locally for coral reefs, calm bays and a small resident village rather than large-scale development.
Shallow reefs and dive sites close to shore make Sakatia a frequent short-trip destination for diving and snorkeling from Nosy Be; some guesthouses and small eco-lodges operate on the island. The island also has small-scale agriculture and traditional village life.
Historically the island has been inhabited by local fishing families and has developed modest visitor services in recent decades tied to the dive and snorkeling trade. It remains primarily a local community rather than a major resort island.
The island sits a short boat ride southwest of Nosy Be in northern Madagascar and is reached by local passenger boats and dive operators from Nosy Be’s ports.
