How to Get to Lake Placid, New York#

Lake Placid is reachable by short flights to SLK (limited), or more commonly via Burlington or Albany plus a drive. The Amtrak Adirondack line and Adirondack Trailways coaches provide rail and bus options with onward road transfers to Lake Placid.

By Air

Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) - Saranac Lake / Lake Placid area: SLK is the closest airport, with limited scheduled service (seasonal and small aircraft). Ground transfer to Lake Placid is about 20-30 minutes; taxis and rental cars are available.

Burlington International (BTV) / Albany International (ALB): Many visitors fly into Burlington (about 1.5-2 hours drive) or Albany (about 2.5-3 hours) and drive or take coach connections to Lake Placid. These airports offer more frequent commercial flights.
