Killington Travel Guide

Killington is famous for one thing, its fantastic skiing. Located in the center of the little state of Vermont, northeast USA, Killington Ski Resort is huge, spanning seven mountain peaks and is the largest of its kind in this part of the US. As a result, the resort offers numerous slopes for skiers as well as two well-developed terrain parks for snowboarders which feature three half-pipes and a boarder-cross course.

Killington ski resort consists of over 50 miles of skiable terrain, with 200 slopes, 30 per cent of which are geared to novices, 39 per cent for intermediates and the other 31 per cent for advanced and expert skiers. The longest run here is a hefty six miles and there are also more than 30 miles of cross-country trails. Dozens of hi-tech ski lifts provide slope access.

The ski season at Killington is a long one running from October to June and various discounts are available for youngsters and the older crowd. Accommodation options are good, with many five-star hotels and guesthouses and there is also much in the way of après-ski nightlife.
