National Folk Decorative Art Museum Museum

The National Museum of Folk Decorative Art in Kyiv is dedicated to Ukrainian folk and decorative arts and crafts. It preserves and exhibits traditional applied arts representative of Ukraine’s regional cultures.

Exhibitions feature textiles and embroidery, decorated ceramics, carved and painted wood objects, metalwork and other applied arts used in domestic and ceremonial contexts. Displays illustrate regional styles and traditional techniques rather than contemporary fine art.

The institution grew from efforts to collect and preserve folk arts and material culture and has housed national-level collections of decorative objects and ethnographic material. Over time the museum has curated rotating and thematic exhibitions focused on craft traditions.
