Main image

Nam Tok Huai Mae Khamin is a multi-tiered waterfall in Kanchanaburi province, western Thailand, located within Khuean Srinagarindra National Park. It is best known for its sequence of cascades and clear plunge pools.

The site’s main attractions are the series of seven tiers, broad rocky cascades and deep pools used for swimming at the lower levels. Paths and wooden walkways link several viewing points, and the lower tier has the most developed picnic and bathing area. The falls are a regional day-trip destination and are busiest in the rainy season when flows are strongest.

The waterfall is a natural feature; the surrounding area was later incorporated into Khuean Srinagarindra National Park to protect the watershed and forest. Management focuses on visitor access, trail maintenance and preserving water quality.

The falls sit in forested hills of Si Sawat District in Kanchanaburi province, within the reservoir-watershed area managed by the national park. Parking and the park entrance are at the foot of the trail network that leads to the tiers.

  • Tiers: The waterfall comprises seven distinct tiers with clear plunge pools at several levels, making it suitable for short hikes and bathing when authorities permit.

What to See #

  • Lower tier: The lower tier contains the largest pool and easiest access from the park car park; it is the main swimming and picnic area during the wet season.
  • Upper tiers: Upper tiers are a sequence of smaller cascades and pools reached by trails and steps that climb the slope; they are quieter and require more walking.
