The waterfall is a natural feature that has been used as a local attraction for many years; development around the site has focused on visitor access and basic amenities.

Situated in western Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province, the falls are accessible from the nearby townships and roads that serve the Sai Yok area.

Sai Yok Noi lies on the western flank of Kanchanaburi province. From Kanchanaburi town, drive or take a local songthaew west on Route 323 toward Sai Yok for roughly 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. From Bangkok it is approximately a 2.5-3 hour drive along Route 4 (Phetkasem Road) then Route 323; many tour operators include the falls as a stop on day trips to the Death Railway and Erawan. There is a small parking area and a short, clearly marked footpath from the road down to the falls.

• Arrive early (before 9:30am) to see the falls before midday coach tours unload and before the light flattens the cascade.
• Walk the short path behind the curtain of water - bring a thin waterproof layer for camera gear; the spray is heavy close up.
• Combine a visit with the nearby Kwai River railway sites (Hellfire Pass Museum is the more solemn stop) rather than treating Sai Yok Noi as the sole destination.
• Bring small cash: there are informal food stalls selling grilled river fish and iced coffee at the parking area.
