Masatepe is best reached from Managua's Augusto C. Sandino Airport (MGA) by bus, colectivo or private transfer. Buses and shared vans from Managua or Masaya are inexpensive and frequent.

By Air

Augusto C. Sandino International (MGA) - Managua: The main international airport for Nicaragua. From MGA you can get to Masatepe by bus or shuttle in roughly 45-75 minutes depending on traffic; local colectivo buses from Managua or from nearby Masaya typically cost about 20-60 NIO (Nicaraguan córdobas). Taxis or private transfers are faster (30-50 minutes) and cost more (roughly 400-700 NIO).

No other major international airports: International flights primarily arrive into Managua; regional flights to smaller airfields are limited and not typical for Masatepe access.

By Train & Bus

Train: Nicaragua has no active national passenger rail service, so trains are not an option.
