How to Get to Nagarote#
Nagarote is reached overland from Managua (Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, MGA) by bus, shared taxi or private transfer. There is no passenger rail network in Nicaragua, so road travel is the standard method.
Augusto C. Sandino International Airport (MGA): Managua’s airport is the main international gateway for visiting Nagarote. From MGA you can take a direct taxi or a shared shuttle to Nagarote; drive time is about 45-75 minutes depending on traffic and the Pacific Coastal Road.
Local airfields: There are no regular international flights to Nagarote; air travel to the region beyond Managua is limited.
Train: Nicaragua has no national passenger rail service; trains are not an option for reaching Nagarote.
Bus: Regular intercity buses and shared taxis (colectivos) run from Managua to Nagarote and nearby towns. Buses depart from Managua bus terminals and take roughly 45-75 minutes depending on route and stops; fares are low and paid in córdobas at boarding.

Road transport is the only practical way to reach and move around Nagarote. For convenience and speed use a private shuttle or taxi from Managua; for the lowest cost, local buses and colectivos are widely available.
