How to Get to Martorell
Martorell (Yabucoa area) is reached most conveniently via San Juan's SJU airport with a subsequent car journey east on PR-53/PR-3. There is limited or no direct rail service; driving or arranging a shuttle gives the most reliable access.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): The main international airport for eastern Puerto Rico. From SJU, driving to Yabucoa/Martorell takes about 1-1.25 hours via PR-3 and PR-53 depending on traffic; car rental or taxi/shuttle is the most practical.
José Aponte de la Torre Airport (NRR) / Ceiba (CEC) (limited service): Ceiba’s small airport (previously used for some regional flights) is closer to eastern towns, but commercial service is limited; check current schedules before planning to use it.
Train: Tren Urbano does not serve Yabucoa or most southeast municipalities; it’s only for the San Juan metro area.
Bus: Intercity buses and shared taxis connect Yabucoa and nearby towns with larger hubs like Humacao and Fajardo. Services are irregular; for reliable schedules and timing, private transfer or car rental is recommended.
