Malé International Airport
Airport Airport
Velana International Airport (MLE), often called Malé International, is the Maldives’ main international gateway located on Hulhulé island next to Malé. It handles international flights and connections to seaplane and domestic transfers; annual passenger numbers are in the low millions and the airport is the hub for the national carrier, Maldivian.
Terminal Guide for Malé (Velana) International Airport #
The airport’s passenger facilities are concentrated in a main terminal building that handles international arrivals and departures. Adjacent to the terminal are the domestic transfer and seaplane terminals/jetties that handle transfers to atolls and resort islands; these transfer areas are physically separate from the international airside and require short surface transfers.
