Coastal Plain (Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, Tyre)

September opens with warm, comfortable days and the sea at its warmest - ideal for sailing, swimming and late-summer festivals along the shore. Tourist numbers thin after August, making it easier to score restaurant reservations and quieter beaches later in the month. Storms are still unlikely but possible late in the month; bring a light windbreaker for cooler evenings and plan outdoor activities in the morning when humidity is lower.

Mount Lebanon & Ski Areas (Faraya, Mzaar, The Cedars, Qornet al-Sawda)

September opens with clear, warm days and cooler nights; early fall color can appear on higher slopes late in the month and trekking conditions are excellent. This is an ideal month for longer multi-day hikes across the spine of Mount Lebanon or exploring cedar forests near Bcharre. Cooler nights mean packing a warm layer; inns and refuges are quieter after August’s peak.

Bekaa Valley (Zahle, Baalbek, Chtaura, wineries)

September cools steadily, bringing comfortable days and cooler nights; the grape harvest begins in many Bekaa vineyards later in the month and wineries become busy with pickers and tastings. This is an excellent month for wine tourism and outdoor concerts at Baalbek - evenings are pleasant and the countryside is busier with local activity. Dress layers for cooler early mornings and allow time for winery tours.

North Lebanon & Akkar (Tripoli, Batroun, Koura, Akkar hills)

September cools gently and the sea is at its warmest - excellent for swimming and late-summer sailing along the north coast. Harvest activity increases in rural areas, and festivals in coastal towns slow down after the peak; this makes it a pleasant month for local cultural visits. Mornings are cooler and ideal for walks along the Corniche in Tripoli or the old Phoenician ports.

South Lebanon & Litani Basin (Jezzine, Nabatieh, Tyre’s wetlands, Sour)

September cools toward very pleasant conditions with lower humidity and warm, comfortable days; the sea remains inviting and archaeological sites are much quieter after the height of summer. Olive and late-harvest activities pick up in surrounding hills, providing a glimpse of rural rhythms. Bring a light sweater for sunset - evenings become noticeably fresher than in August.
