Chuy Valley & Bishkek (Northern Lowlands)

The city brightens with increasing sun and a flurry of activity around Nooruz celebrations; gardens and markets show the first green shoots. Afternoon temperatures are pleasantly cool for strolling around Oak Park and the Osh Bazaar grows livelier as traders stock spring produce. However, muddy conditions persist outside paved areas, and sudden chilly spells can return - bring a warm layer for evening outings and expect local life to hum with spring clean-ups and renovation projects.

Issyk‑Kul & Eastern Tien Shan (Lake and Karakol area)

Expect a clean, brisk air as Issyk‑Kul sheds much of its winter gloom and lowland ice disappears; windier days are common at the beginning of spring. Warmth builds quickly in April with long, pleasant days ideal for exploring Osh’s sacred Suleiman-Too and the silk workshops of Margilan. Afternoon temperatures become noticeably comfortable for walking tours while mornings remain fresh. Be aware that some rural dirt roads can be soft after spring runoff and plan transport accordingly if you intend to visit remote sites like Sary‑Chelek in the border highlands.
