A smaller tomb in the Valley of the Kings noted for its burial chambers and pottery finds from the New Kingdom. Its material interests Egyptologists; public access is more limited than for principal royal tombs in the area.
How to Get to KV45 #
KV45 sits inside the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. From central Luxor (the Corniche/Souq area), take a taxi or a felucca-and-taxi combination across the Nile to the West Bank (approx 10-20 minutes by taxi). From the main Valley of the Kings car park the tombs are reached by short walks along marked paths; ask site staff which tombs are open on the day - access rotates for conservation.
Tips for Visiting KV45 #
- Buy a Valley of the Kings ticket that covers multiple tombs - individual tomb access is often controlled at the entrance and may require a separate small fee.
- Go early in the morning to avoid heat and crowds; the West Bank of Luxor is hottest mid-afternoon.
- Bring a small torch and a light jacket: tomb interiors are cool, low-ceilinged and can be damp.

Best visited in the cooler months to avoid the intense Egyptian summer heat; mornings are generally quieter.
