How to Get to Khenifra
Khenifra is best reached by road - regional airports exist but international travellers commonly fly to Fes or Marrakech and take a bus or car. CTM and other coach services provide the main scheduled public connections.
Beni Mellal Airport (BEM): Beni Mellal is the closest regional airport to Khenifra; from Beni Mellal the road journey to Khenifra takes around 2-3 hours by car or bus. Services at Beni Mellal are limited so many travellers use Fes or Marrakech for international flights.
Fes-Saïss Airport (FEZ) / Marrakech Menara (RAK): For wider international connections use Fes or Marrakech and continue by road or bus to Khenifra. Road travel times vary widely (Fes ~3-4+ hours depending on route; Marrakech considerably longer).
Train: Khenifra does not sit on Morocco’s main passenger rail network (ONCF) which runs along the Atlantic corridor; closest railheads are in larger cities like Fes or Meknès.
Bus: CTM and Supratours (and local operators) run bus services to Khenifra from major cities such as Fes, Beni Mellal and Marrakech. Buses are the most practical public transport option - travel times and frequencies depend on origin and season.

Khenifra’s old medina and town centre are mostly walkable; petit taxis serve intra‑city trips while intercity CTM and local buses connect to larger Moroccan cities. Roads into the Middle Atlas can be winding; allow extra travel time. For short runs expect to use petit taxis-ensure the meter runs or negotiate a price before starting the trip.
