How to Get to Kastav#
Kastav sits on the hills above Rijeka and is reached most easily via Rijeka Airport or Rijeka city by bus or taxi. Local buses from Rijeka are the principal public-transport link; driving short distances is common for visitors.
Rijeka Airport (RJK): Rijeka Airport (on Krk island, often marketed as Rijeka) is the nearest airport. From the airport take a direct airport bus or taxi to Rijeka city (about 25-40 minutes) and then a short drive/bus to Kastav; total travel time to Kastav is about 35-60 minutes.
Pula (PUY) / Zagreb (ZAG) / Trieste (TRS): Other international airports require longer ground transfers: from Zagreb or Trieste allow 1.5-3 hours by car or bus. From larger airports you’ll typically travel to Rijeka or Matulji and then take local buses or taxis to Kastav.
