The Kamphaeng Phet National Museum is a provincial museum in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand, that displays archaeological and historical material from the surrounding ancient city complex.

The museum is administered by Thailand’s Fine Arts Department and was created to preserve and interpret artifacts from excavations and local conservation efforts. Its collections reflect long-term archaeological work in the Kamphaeng Phet area rather than a single founding collection.

The museum houses a collection of artefacts from the many ruins in the historical park, and its prize exhibit is a bronze statue of Shiva. The statue once stood on public display, but its head and hands were stolen by a German visitor in the late 19th century. They were later returned and the image was moved to a safe place, while a replica-now on view at the San Phra Isuan shrine around the corner-was made. This 16th-century sculpture is a strong indication that Hinduism was an important aspect of religious life in Thailand during that era.

The Sukhothai period, from 1238 to 1438, is well represented, though the artefacts range from the prehistoric to the present day. The artwork on display is remarkably diverse, with the Buddha depicted in his many forms alongside numerous devils, mythological characters and celestial beings. The array of handmade objects is equally impressive, from traditional celadon pottery to ceramic handicrafts, and includes one of the most complete selections in Thailand of ancient tools, clothing and everyday necessities used by those who once lived here.
