How to Get to Itahari
Itahari is a key transport hub in eastern Nepal reachable by domestic flight to Biratnagar plus a short road transfer, or directly by frequent intercity buses. Road travel is straightforward and buses are the most common public option.
Biratnagar Airport (BIR): Biratnagar is the nearest domestic airport to Itahari and has regular flights from Kathmandu and other Nepalese cities. From Biratnagar to Itahari the drive is about 1-2 hours by taxi or bus depending on traffic and route.
Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (KTM): International visitors arrive at Kathmandu and then continue by domestic flight to Biratnagar or by long-distance bus to reach Itahari (bus journeys can take 10+ hours by road).
Train: Nepal does not have an extensive passenger rail network connecting Itahari.
