How to Get to Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay on Grand Cayman is primarily accessed via Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) with ground transfers by taxi, rental car or local minibus. Driving is the most convenient way to explore multiple bays and beaches.
Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM): Owen Roberts (George Town, Grand Cayman) is the main airport serving Half Moon Bay and other Grand Cayman beaches. Travel time from GCM to many western and southern bays is typically 15-35 minutes by car; taxis from the airport to beach areas commonly cost CI$10-CI$35 (USD ~12-40). Rental cars are widely available.
(No other Cayman airport): There are no other regular international airports on Grand Cayman; most visitors arrive via GCM.
Train: There is no passenger rail on Grand Cayman.
Bus: Public minibus routes operate across the island with very low fares (a few CI$) but limited schedules and routes. For reliable access to beaches like Half Moon Bay, use a taxi, rental car, or hotel shuttle; minibuses can be useful for short, local trips.
