About the Doves of Peace Memorial#
The Doves of Peace Memorial is a statue at the center of the main roundabout in Anlong Veng, donated by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen. It symbolizes Cambodia’s path toward healing and reconciliation after the tragic Khmer Rouge era.
Anlong Veng once served as the final stronghold of the Khmer Rouge, and the memorial stands as a reminder of the country’s turbulent past while representing hope for a peaceful future. Adorned with white doves, a universal symbol of peace, it marks the end of conflict and the beginning of a new chapter for Cambodia.
