Roseau & Southwest Coast (Roseau, Mero, Scotts Head, Champagne Reef)

Early March sees consistent dry spells on the west coast, with coral-clear water around Scott’s Head and Mero Beach; surface temps sit comfortably in the high 20s°C. Day hikes to Morne Bruce and quick drives into the Dry River valley are pleasant without the heavy mud of later months, and locals report clearer whale-watching windows from boat tours. Carry reef-safe sunscreen and a lightweight layer for breezy evenings in Roseau.

North Coast & Cabrits Peninsula (Portsmouth, Cabrits National Park, Calibishie)

Dry spells continuing through March make the north great for long walks along the shoreline and visiting remote vineyards and small villages. Sea visibility is excellent for dive and snorkel trips in Prince Rupert Bay and the northern reefs; locals report calm waters and steady winds that keep insects down. Expect fewer tour options than in Roseau - plan boat trips in advance and carry plenty of water for sunny treks.

East / Atlantic Coast (Castle Bruce, La Plaine, Marigot, Grand Fond)

March often presents the most comfortable stretch for the east coast-relatively fewer heavy storms and pleasant daytime temps-making walks along headlands like La Plaine much easier. The wind keeps insects down, and sightlines across the Atlantic can be expansive on clear mornings; however, shoreline access is still rugged and rocky. Bring sturdy shoes and expect fewer amenities in villages compared with the west coast.

Central Highlands & Morne Trois Pitons National Park (Boiling Lake, Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Falls, Waitukubuli Trail high sections)

Clearer stretches in March often yield the best conditions for longer treks in the park: cooler daytime highs and lower river levels reduce the chance of detours or closures to the Boiling Lake trail. The mist often clears mid-morning revealing valley views, and waterfalls are big but not overwhelmingly so. Bring layered clothing for variable conditions, and expect fewer insects than in the heart of the wet season.

Southern Peninsula & Soufrière Area (Soufrière, Scotts Head peninsula, Grand Bay)

March is often one of the best months for calm seas around Scotts Head; visibility for diving and checking out the Champagne blow-hole or snorkeling with reef fish is usually excellent. The sulfur baths near Soufrière are still comfortably warm against cool mornings high in the hills, and small guesthouses tend to be pleasantly uncrowded. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a dry bag - shore breaks can be variable around the peninsula’s rocky access points.
