Coast & Abidjan (Lagoon and Gulf shore)

By November the rains taper markedly and humidity falls; mornings along the coast regain a crispness as cloud cover recedes and fishing communities straighten out beachside huts. Abidjan’s traffic eases with drier roads and banana and cocoa shipments accelerate toward the ports. This is a great month for coastal drives and exploring Grand‑Bassam’s colonial quarter; lightweight rain gear is still handy for the occasional thunderstorm but days are mostly pleasant.

South Rainforest & San‑Pédro-Taï area

November sees a marked reduction in rainfall and a gradual easing of humidity as the long wet season winds down, leaving waterfalls and rivers at sustained high flow and the forest very fresh. Forest trails reopen more consistently and pangolin or primate sightings can be rewarded for patient trekkers. It’s a good month for combining beach time at San‑Pédro with a guided half‑day rainforest walk; pack a light rain jacket for sporadic showers.

West Highlands (Man, Tonkoui & La Dent)

November begins to dry, with clearer mornings and fewer prolonged downpours, and mounting opportunities for extended hikes as ridgelines open up and cooling winds return. The soil drains more effectively and markets in Man become livelier as farmers move goods, making it a pleasant time for homestays and cultural tours. Still carry waterproofs for the occasional shower and a warm layer for night camps.

Central Plateau (Yamoussoukro, Bouaké)

November brings a clear change as rains ease and the Harmattan dust starts to filter in toward the end of the month, drying roads and clearing skies for travel. Daytime temperatures moderate and the plateau is excellent for photography and exploring the basilica and nearby villages. Mosquito presence drops but remains; a light layer for cooler mornings and evenings is sensible.

North & Savannah (Korhogo, Ferkessédougou)

November sees clear, dry conditions with falling humidity and very good visibility across the savannah - excellent for photography and village visits around Korhogo. Daytime heat is moderate and nights can be cool; the risk of bushfires increases as the land dries, so avoid open flames in grasslands. Most tourist services resume normal schedules and driving between towns is straightforward on hardened roads.
