Bunrany Hun Sen Vocational Craft Training Center Building

When open, the Bunrany Hun Sen Vocational Craft Training Center is an interesting place to watch traditional handicraft skills at work and to buy souvenirs, including woven silks and hand-made baskets. Named after Cambodia’s former first lady, the centre preserves and promotes traditional Khmer craftsmanship while providing vocational training for the local community, equipping underprivileged people with skills in crafts such as silk weaving, wood carving and stone sculpture.

Visitors can expect a hands-on experience, seeing artisans and students at work and learning about the processes behind Cambodia’s traditional crafts. Guided tours give insight into the history of the crafts, the materials used and the training itself. For those with time, it may also be possible to take short courses here in cloth weaving, mat weaving and marble carving.
