Brazil Visas for Digital Nomads

Every way to stay in Brazil as a remote worker: the e-visa for Americans, Canadians and Australians, visa-free stays of up to 180 days, the VITEM XIV digital nomad visa, Federal Police registration and the CPF.

Brazil offers remote workers up to 180 days a year as visitors, or a year at a time on its digital nomad visa, the VITEM XIV. Since 2025, though, citizens of the US, Canada and Australia need an e-visa even for short visits. This page covers the position as of October 2026.

E-Visa for the US, Canada and Australia#

Since 10 April 2025, citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia need a visa to visit Brazil.

  • Fee: $80.90, paid online.
  • Validity: ten years for US citizens, multiple entry.
  • Stay: up to 90 days per visit and 180 days in any 12 months.
  • How: apply only through the official e-visa portal run by VFS Global for Brazil; approval usually takes a few days.

Visa-Free Entry#

Citizens of the UK, EU countries, New Zealand and many Latin American countries can enter Brazil without a visa for 90 days, extendable by up to 90 days at the Federal Police, to a maximum of 180 days in any 12 months.
