- Private shuttle (~US$25-60 depending on route and provider) - Private shuttle companies offer direct trips between BZE, Belmopan, San Ignacio and other tourist hubs on fixed schedules or on demand. They are more comfortable than public buses and useful for travelers with luggage or tight connections.
- Car rental (~US$40-80/day) - Renting a car gives you freedom to explore Cayo District and surrounding areas at your own pace. Belizean roads vary in quality - primary highways are paved but secondary roads can be rough; check insurance and local driving rules.
- Taxi (local) (Varies by trip) - Taxis operate within towns and between nearby communities; negotiate fares in advance for longer trips. Taxis are useful for short hops and when public buses do not suit your schedule.
- Walking - Belmopan is compact and many services are within walking distance of the town center. Walking is practical for short errands, but bring water and sun protection in the tropical climate.
