How to Get to Apatzingán
Apatzingán is primarily accessed by intercity bus from Morelia, Lázaro Cárdenas, Uruapan and other regional centres; there is no regular passenger rail service. Local buses and taxis serve the town for onward travel.
General Francisco J. Múgica International Airport (MLM), Morelia: Morelia is one of the main airports for Michoacán and is a practical air gateway for Apatzingán. From Morelia take an intercity bus toward Apatzingán (journey time 4-6 hours depending on service) or combine with connecting buses-fares vary by operator.
Lázaro Cárdenas Airport (LZC): Lázaro Cárdenas is closer geographically to parts of Tierra Caliente; buses from Lázaro Cárdenas to Apatzingán take around 2-3 hours and tend to be cheaper-use this when schedules align.
