How to Get to Apango
Apango is a small town in Guerrero best reached by road from regional hubs. The nearest regular commercial airports are Acapulco (ACA) and Mexico City (MEX); most visitors arrive by flying into one of those and continuing by bus and taxi.
Acapulco International Airport (ACA): Acapulco is the closest commercial airport for much of central Guerrero; from ACA you can get to local bus terminals in Acapulco city and take an ADO or local bus toward Chilpancingo or nearby regional hubs. Expect a taxi from ACA into Acapulco centre to cost around 200-400 MXN and take 30-45 minutes; ADO bus trips from Acapulco to Chilpancingo generally take 2-3 hours and cost roughly 120-300 MXN.
Mexico City - Benito Juárez International (MEX): If you fly into Mexico City, long‑distance buses run from Mexico City terminals (Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente/TAPO and Terminal de Observatorio for other lines) toward Guerrero towns; travel to the region is typically 5-7 hours by bus. From a regional bus hub (e.g., Chilpancingo) you will need a local taxi or colectivo to reach Apango (30-90 minutes depending on routing; prices vary).
Train: There is no direct long‑distance rail service to Apango. The nearest intercity rail and major bus hubs are in larger Guerrero towns; trains are not a practical arrival option for this town.
Bus: Intercity buses (ADO and other regional companies) are the usual way to reach the area - routes run to regional centres such as Acapulco and Chilpancingo. From those hubs you will transfer to smaller regional buses or shared taxis (colectivos) to reach Apango; times depend on connections but plan 2-4 hours from Acapulco/Chilpancingo and longer from Mexico City. Prices for intercity bus legs are typically in the low hundreds of MXN.
