How to Get to Aceitunas

Aceitunas is a barrio of Moca, Puerto Rico, and is best reached by road after flying into Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) or Luis Muñoz Marín (SJU). There are no passenger rail links for this region, so drive, taxi or limited bus services are used to complete the journey.

By Air

Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) / Aguadilla or Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU): Moca (and its barrios such as Aceitunas) is in northwest Puerto Rico; Rafael Hernández (BQN) in Aguadilla is the closest major airport (about 20-40 minutes by road), while SJU in San Juan is further (1.5-2 hours). From either airport you can take a taxi, rental car, or intercity bus to Moca.

Smaller regional flights: There are no scheduled flights directly into Moca; overland travel from BQN or SJU is required.

By Train & Bus

Bus: Puerto Rico’s public bus network (AMA) is limited for intercity travel; most visitors use intercity buses, private shuttles or rental cars. From Aguadilla/BQN there are local buses and shared taxi services to Moca, but schedules are limited-car or taxi is usually more practical.

Train: Puerto Rico does not have an island-wide passenger rail system for these routes; road transport is the standard way to reach Moca and surrounding barrios.
