Trivia
the nearby Balian River is sacred, with Balian loosely meaning 'positive energy'.

This area is a rocky part of Bali and comes with black volcanic and golden sands. There are several posh hotel/resorts out this way, including the much ballyhooed Gajah Mina sitting up on a headland.

Balian Beach is not far from Lalang-linggah and is the main attraction in the region, especially for surfers. It's about 50kms from Kuta and has a small village setting with palms all around. The surf here is on par with that of Kuta, yet is much less crowded.
